Количество отлитых медалей призеров Олимпийских игр подлежит предварительному письменному одобрению МОК; ОКОИ долженпредоставить МОК официальную справку, информирующую о точном количестве отлитых медалей. ОКОИ обязан за свой счет предоставить МОК комплекты Олимпийских медалей без гравировки. После Игр ОКОИ должен предоставить МОК ведомость о распределении фактического количества Олимпийских медалей. Город-организатор и/или НОК могут оставить Комплект (или комплекты) Олимпийских медалей в качестве экспонатов для собственных музеев и/или для архива, предварительно получив на это письменное согласие МОК.

policy relating to prize winner medals
Number of Olympic winners’ medals struck shall be subject to the prior written approval of the IOC, and the OCOG shall provide the IOC with a certificate confirming the exact number of such medals that have been struck. The OCOG shall provide to the IOC, at the OCOGs expense, the non-engraved sets of Olympic medals. After the Games, the OCOG shall submit to the IOC an inventory detailing the distribution of all Olympic winners’ medals. A set (or sets) of the Olympic winners’ medals may be kept by the city and/or the NOC for museum exhibition and/or archival purposes, subject to the prior written consent of the IOC.
